BIPOC Therapy

As a therapist who specializes in eating disorders, I know that eating disorders don’t discriminate. People in all bodies of all races experience disordered eating thoughts and behaviors, and deserve to have a competent clinician who understands their lived experience. Because of the misconceptions about the prevalence of eating disorders in the BIPOC community, it can be hard to find a clinician who is trauma-informed and mindful of the systemic causes of Eating Disorders.

It is important to me to remain conscious of these misconceptions. I understand that Eating Disorders and disordered eating can be a way to cope with the stress of moving through the world with a marginalized identity. Cultural competency is a priority for me, and I will ensure that your race and culture are never an afterthought.

I’d love to help you on your journey to Body Liberation or general well-being with the care and competence you deserve.
